Energy audit of current production

3

+

Energy audit is an energy survey of facilities which helps to determine the energy efficiency and to develop economically feasible measures to reduce energy supply costs.

Energy inspection of bitumen facilities includes activities aimed at identifying sources of high energy intensity of the bitumen storage and heating area at asphalt concrete plants and bitumen terminals, as well as discovering ways to improve energy efficiency.

"BitumTech" is the only company in the Russian Federation specializing in conducting energy surveys of bitumen workshops and bases.

List of energy audit activities:

  • Preliminary analysis of the enterprise technology and a rough assessment of energy costs for storaging and thermal processing of bitumen;
  • Visual and instrumental inspection of process equipment, including overall dimensions of warehouses and process tanks, parameters of communication lines (oil and bitumen pipelines), thermal insulation and its availability, measurement of temperature fields on the surface of equipment and communication lines, identification of actual consumption of primary energy sources and the specifics of the production technology;

  • Office processing of survey results with the establishment of actual energy conversion efficiency of heat-producing equipment and heating elements, identification of shortcomings of current technology and its individual stages, energy calculation and development of recommendations for reducing energy intensity of production (energy saving programs).

The aims of energy audits are not only energy saving issues, but also improving the efficiency of the production process.

In general, survey experience shows that the main reasons for high energy capacity and low efficiency are, first of all, engineering errors made at the stage of technological project development. Other factors causing increased operating costs are:

  • Insufficient or absent thermal insulation of equipment and pipeline transport;
  • Insufficient or excessive capacity of heat-generating equipment;
  • Low flexibility, lack of communication between heat generator and consumer;
  • Suboptimal heating conditions of the binder;
  • Incorrect selection of transport system parameters.

As a result of the energy audit you will receive:

  • Recommendations for improving thermal insulation;
  • Plan for improving (changing) the modes of bitumen storaging and heating;
  • Map of bitumen and coolant transportation system efficiency improvement;
  • Technical conditions for selecting the most suitable technological equipment, etc. with calculation of the effect of implementation of measures (payback period).
